Samling is a personal illustration project based on some of my favourite songs. The goal was to visually interpret the feeling of each song and translate it into an image. The illustrations were created in Photoshop by combining my own photographs with images from open image libraries. Through collage, colour and composition I built new motifs that amplify the mood and expression of the songs. The project was a way for me to explore image manipulation as a tool and experiment with how visual elements can communicate a feeling rather than a concrete motif.
